MESD's Migrant Education Program provides education services and support that address migrant students’ needs and ensure that migratory children who move among the states are not penalized in any manner by disparities among states in curriculum, graduation requirements, or state academic content and student academic achievement standards. 

 

MESD is hiring a Site Supervisor for the Summer Migrant Education Program which will be held from June 15th, 2024 through July 23rd, 2024. Some evening work is required and total working hours will not exceed 230. Applicants must commit to being present throughout the entirety of the summer program.

POSITION PURPOSE: Manage the overall summer school program at a school site.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Implements the school and program schedule.
  2. Supervises non-certified temporary staff.
  3. Provides training, direction, feedback, verbal and written evaluations to temporary staff.
  4. Maintains communication with Program Manager/Supervisor by keeping the Program Manager/Supervisor informed in a timely manner regarding problems, issues, and concerns.
  5. Conducts orientation visits for students, parents and District Personnel.
  6. Supervises program participants and High School Student Leaders.
  7. Supervises and performs food serving functions at meals and at other times as needed.
  8. Works cooperatively with site owners and caretakers.
  9. Confers with teachers and other District Personnel as needed.
  10.  Communicates with others utilizing appropriate verbal and non-verbal interaction.
  11.  Follows District policies and procedures of the school program.
  12.  Performs other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager/Supervisor which are indicated to assure the physical and emotional well-being of students.
  13. Provides backup support to other staff as requested.
  14. Attends department and other staff meetings.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
